i cannot stop thinking about that one scene of all the star lasso guests inside jean jacket. the horrid claustrophobia of the membranes pushing in from all sides, the victims screaming and retching, the empty eyed silhouettes of half-digested previous victims…. fuckin well done jordan peele that shit lives in my brain forever now and haunts me in the middle of the night

Tubi is the best streaming service because it captures the feeling of a video store, but not a corporate video store like Blockbuster, or even a good indie store, but a rundown video rental place under a overpass weeks away from closing down. You’ll find, like, 2001: A Space Odyssey next to a unwatchable copy of a 70s exploitation film and a micro-low-budget indie and a movie called STRIPPER VAMPIRE MASSACRE III but you can find no evidence of STRIPPER VAMPIRE MASSACRE one or two existing.
This is a real, commercial streaming service and they’ve uploaded films with the DVD menu visible for the first few seconds bc it’s a recording of a DVD copy. What a titan in the landscape of streaming

I’m graduating tomorrow with my second degree. It’s “just” an Associate’s Degree, but I am far more proud of it than I am my Bachelor’s. I graduated the first time in 2011 with an idiotic Literature and Writing degree that literally is just a scrap of paper announcing that I can write cohesively in the language I was raised in, which is not an accomplishment so much as it is a basic necessity.
This degree is in Horticulture. I have designed fully sustainable, regenerative, native planted landscapes, I have created genetically modified bacteria and used those to create genetically modified carrots (they glow under blacklight!), I’ve developed a dual sterilization and prep procedure for mushroom grain bag media, I’ve cutting and leaf cloned many plants, I’ve cut down and pruned trees, I helped fix a sprinkler valve system, I’ve designed several floral displays, spoken to high school teachers regarding recruiting, created multiple class ads for the school social media pages, co-authored two published scientific papers, and been interviewed by a sustainability initiative company. I even willingly did math.
I am immensely proud. I have a STEM degree now. I paid for it all, I got myself there, and I will continue to rise and thrive.
